The brief ignorance of the wise vs the enduring ignorance of fools: through either shame, arrogance, sentimentality–or any of many other base motivations–a foolish person breaths life into their ignorance by hiding it; whereas, through either a sense of duty or a love of reality–or something comparably respectable–a wise person banishes ignorance readily and gladly, by any means necessary, as soon as possible.
